The first week of 2009 started great with the Real Estate BarCamp and Inman Connect conference in New York City. Both events were full of wonderful people with great ideas. Below are a few of my takeaways.
- If you are thinking of starting a blog but don’t think you’ve got enough time or energy to figure out what to write, consider starting a group blog with multiple contributors. An example of a multiple contributor real estate blog: www.chasenation.com
- Check out advertising opportunities on Facebook. Geographic targeting will allow you to do things like serve up open house ads to people in your market within a certain age group.
- Check out www.netamorfasis.com. Mary McKnight is ultra cool with great ideas.
- Tokbox.com will allow you send video mail, do video chat and lots more for free!
- Want to practice your online video skills, try www.12seconds.tv
- Best quote: “If you can send an email, you can use every single piece of social technology.” Jeff Turner, Real Estate Shows
- My new inspiration, Gary Vaynerchuk. You rock!
- Organize your emails: www.xobni.com (I downloaded it already and love it!)
- Send video mail and highlight online messages with www.eyejot.com
- To view the ongoing conversation from these events go to http://search.twitter.com and type in #rebcny or #icny.
