Daniel Lee Kim of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Advantage Realty shares what made the difference when finding a real estate home.
Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been in Real Estate and how did you find yourself at your BHGRE Advantage Realty?
I am a proud Marine veteran of 11 years. Born and raised in Asuncion, Paraguay, I moved to the U.S. in 2001 where I grew up in Alhambra, CA. After graduating and obtaining my pilot’s license from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, I joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in various leadership roles. As a Marine, I was able to work with military members from all over the world and truly enjoyed mentoring junior Marines and Officers.
Although I joined BHGRE Advantage Realty in January 2022, I started personally investing in Real Estate since 2016. I have purchased 3 properties and am currently exploring a 1031 exchange to continue growing my investment portfolio. Having first-hand experience with these type of transactions has enabled me to provide better customer service and relate to clients on a different level.
I found BHGRE Advantage Realty from another Real Estate agent that worked for a different broker. The fact that he recommended BHGRE over his own brokerage spoke volumes. I went through a very selective interviewing process and throughout the process I came to learn that BHGRE Advantage Realty had a very tight niche group of agents that operated as a family, and this was the biggest contributing factor in choosing BHGRE.
What do you love most about being a Real Estate professional?
I love the fact that I get to educate and help others to achieve their goals. My first-time home purchase experience was very poor, the agent did not add value and my wife and I had to figure things out on our own. My goal is to not only help clients find their dream homes or investment properties, but also ensure the process is smooth, that they learn throughout the process, and that they end the transaction as confident homeowners and investors.
What does the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand represent to you?
The BHGRE brand to me represents nation-wide reach, quality, family, and luxury. Growing up, I would see BH&G magazines which had cooking recipes with celebrities, and that made me think of family and that the BH&G company was a “luxury” brand. That pre-conceived notion of family and luxury then transferred into BHGRE. I work with professionals who are very intelligent, disciplined, and care a lot about their clients and the community. I know for a fact that BHGRE agents are different than majority of agents from other brokerages because we hold ourselves to a higher standard.
Tell us how being part of the BHGRE® network impacts your work and helps you build relationships with your clients.
Being a part of the BHGRE network, almost automatically, has given me an opportunity to be trusted by others in the industry due to our higher standards and work ethics. And because of our reputation, clients are more likely to trust you and work with you once you establish that initial bond with them. It is up to me to uphold that same standard and maintain our reputation.
What is your favorite BHGRE tool and how have you used it in your business?
I am new to this industry, but I have had the chance to work with Moxi to generate my own personal website. Moxiworks is very user friendly, and with the help of our in-house IT support, I was able to create my personal agent website with ease. I am continuously updating and thinking of different ways to make the site better. Our agents love the BH&G magazine program, and I am currently exploring how to add that to my marketing plan.
