Start-ups and technology companies from all over will descend on Madison, New Jersey, Tuesday for the annual Realogy FWD Innovation Summit. Joseph Rand, from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Rand Realty, has completed a comprehensive analysis of the innovators for his World’s Best Real Estate Agent blog. For all of you busy Clean Slate readers, we’ve summed up the highlights for you here.
In the category of home search, Joe identifies six different solutions that assist buyers during the home search process. For example, Closing Time creates a web-based, personalized checklist to keep track of details around your closing. Curb Call is positioned as the “Uber for real estate agents,” and lets buyers search for and demand in real-time a showing of a for-sale property by the most available agent. There are a variety of other new search players all vying to be the go-to solution.
On the marketing side, Joe looked at companies that help agents market homes. Beamly is a bluetooth enabled micro-location information app – simply place your phone near key features of a property to find out more. Matterport is a super cool 3D imaging technology – but you need to buy a special camera. Other marketing apps focus on advertising and imaging.
In the B2B area, there were five sites forms to help real estate professionals manage their businesses. CO Everywhere is an app and web-based service that helps you keep up-to-date on hyperlocal news by tapping into social media feeds in specific neighborhoods. Deductr helps keep track of real estate related expenses including calculating taxes. Other apps tackle keyless entry and remote home automation.
All-in-all, it is an interesting cross section of companies that may drive innovation in real estate.
