Gail Long of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Lifestyles Realty shares her thoughts on what the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand represents to her and her clients.
Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been in Real Estate and how did you find yourself at your BHGRE Lifestyles Realty?
I am a wife (my husband and I just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this year) and mother of two sons, both in high school. Before my career in real estate I was a kindergarten teacher. The skills I crafted as a teacher of time management, problem solving, and organization, have been put to use ever since I became a REALTOR® in 2015. I joined Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Lifestyles Realty three years into my real estate career. I met with our franchise owner and our broker to learn about the company and then over the next several months I was able to see that they provided the type of culture and business support that I wanted for my business. Once I joined I haven’t ever looked back!
What do you love most about being a Real Estate professional?
I love being able to work with people to achieve their real estate goals, because they can vary widely from person to person. Whether someone needs to purchase their first home, an investment property, downsize/upsize, buy land and build-all of these things make it where there’s never two days that are the same.
What does the Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand represent to you?
The Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate brand represents an idea of not just a house, but a home. Somewhere that you make memories and take pride in making beautiful things, whether that be through design, landscaping and/or meals. Being a realtor attached to the brand helps me to convey the message, to my clients, that I am not someone who is just in their lives during a transaction, but rather I have a desire to be a long term real estate resource.
Tell us how being part of the BHGRE® network impacts your work and helps you build relationships with your clients.
I love the fact that I can connect my clients with other outstanding real estate professionals. I believe that there’s a certain type of person that is attracted to be a BHGRE® agent and that goes a long way knowing a level of custom service and professionalism will be provided. In addition, when I have been referred, from other BHGRE® agents, to people moving to my area I know they feel confident their clients are in good hands.
What is your favorite BHGRE tool and how have you used it in your business?
I love sharing our PinPoint marketing tool with sellers because I feel confident that it’s something that sets us apart from other brokerages. In preparation for my listing appointment I have my marketing department do a property specific flyer and sellers love to see how targeted we can get in promoting their house.
