The Appointment Serves as the Next Chapter in Bringing the Dream of Homeownership to Life
SAN FRANCISCO and MADISON, N.J. (March 30, 2017) – Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate President and CEO, Sherry Chris, has joined the advisory board for New Story, a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that builds safe homes and transforms slums into thriving communities in developing countries. Chris will strengthen Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate’s support of New Story by serving a one year term as an advisory board member where she will provide strategic counsel and assist with the non-profit’s growth.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate recently began a campaign to help New Story raise money to transform a rural shack slum in Ahuachapán, El Salvador into a beautiful, sustainable and safe community. The residents of Ahuachapán currently live in dilapidated tent structures, which makes living conditions dangerous and harmfully impacts individual health and well-being.
One hundred percent of donations to New Story raised through the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate campaign will be directly applied to the construction of the homes in Ahuachapán. During the construction of the community, all labor and materials will be sourced from the area thus effectively creating jobs and injecting capital into the local economy.
