New-Home Sales in U.S. Rebound From One-Year Low
According to the Commerce Department, purchases of new US homes rebounded in October from the lowest level in more than a year, signaling buyers are starting to take higher mortgage rates in stride. According to the findings, sales jumped 25.4 percent to a 444,000 annualized pace.
New mortgage rules may mean less choice
The new mortgage regulations launched next year aimed to make mortgages safer may actually result in fewer choices for borrowers. Now that banks have to ensure that monthly mortgage payments are affordable, some of the smaller ones may drop out of the business because of these tougher regulations.

Employment in November improved in several areas closely tied to housing, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The economy added 8,400 residential construction employment jobs in the month of November, indicating that the recovery continues to march on.
New-home sales skyrocket in October
According to data released by the U.S Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, sales of new single-family homes skyrocketed in October, ending a three-month slump that began in July.
