The American dream of homeownership remains a positive fixture. More than 60 percent of owners and renters still consider owning a home to be a good investment, and believe their property value will increase in the next five years.

More Americans than forecast signed contracts to purchase previously owned U.S. homes in April, indicating a pickup in the housing market during the busy spring selling period.

Housing Bubble? Despite Rising Prices, Most Economists Still Say No
Is another housing bubble forming? This has been an ongoing debate among real estate professionals in the past few months. The latest report from the S&P/Case-Shiller Home Price Index shows prices has continued to rise for 35 consecutive months. However, economists still believe it’s not a cause for concern because “bubble prices typically rise in tandem across the country, rather than responding to the strength of local economies.”

U.S. Housing Data, Sturdy Jobs Market Buoy Growth Outlook
