I grew up watching reruns of the Batman television shows starring Adam West. In 1989, Michael Keaton reprised the role and brought the character back into the main stream.
Then in 2005, Christian Bale starred in Batman Begins. Today the character is still a popular superhero.
So, what makes Batman a superhero?
He was not born with any super powers, isn’t an alien that gets power from our sun and wasn’t bit by a bat and given super strength.
Minus the fact that he drives fancy cars and spends his days (and nights) fighting bad guys, he is a regular guy working to make the world around him a better place.
Being a super real estate agent is no different. We work each and every day to perfect our craft and use our skills, knowledge and training to bring a super experience to the consumers we interact with on a daily basis.
So here is my question to you. Are you dressing for success, studying the market, and preparing for your meetings with buyers and sellers? Are you a “Super Real Estate Agent?”
If not, here are a few quick tips to get you on the fast track to super real estate agent success!
How to Become a Super Real Estate Agent
1. First Impressions are Lasting
It is so important to make a strong first impression. I understand that we live in a casual society, but the first time you meet with a potential client is not the time to dress down. Even Batman wears a suit to let people know he means business.
I want you to take a moment to envision a doctor, mechanic, and the President of the United States. What is each one wearing? Now think about a real estate professional. What are they wearing? If what you have on now is anything less than the professional image you just viewed in your mind’s eye, then it might be time to make a change and step up to your “super suit.”
2. Study Your Market
Batman is a detective first. When he has to battle bad guys, he goes into his bat cave to study their trends, style, attributes, and patterns. He does extensive research on his enemy. Now I am not saying that clients are your enemy. I am merely making a comparison on how Batman takes his time to study and prepare for the unexpected.
How often do you visit your bat cave? What I mean by this is how much time do you spend studying the market and your client? Can you tell clients about the last home to sell in your development? What are the average days on the market for a 4 bedroom, 2 ½ bath colonial? These are the details you need to know inside and out.. Block out a few hours of your schedule every week to study your market and preview homes. Know your product. Be a real estate genius!
3. Arm Your Utility Belt
Batman carries a utility belt with specific tools to help him when he encounters bad guys. The belt gives him the confidence to handle any situation.
What can be found on your utility belt? First and foremost, you must have a customized buyer consultation and a fully customized listing presentation. These are crucial ingredients for showcasing your skills and attributes to potential buyers and sellers.
If you do not have the ability to explain why they should work with you, then why should they? These tools set the tone for the relationship. For most of us, the smart phone is truly our utility belt. With apps that help with everything from the home searches to finding a local vendor, needs of buyers and sellers are being met through mobile.
