Many people have seen their homes washed away or flooded to ruin. <a href=\"http:\/\/money.cnn.com\/2011\/08\/26\/real_estate\/hurricane_irene_preparation\/index.htm\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">CNN Money reports<\/span><\/a> that total damage could reach $7 billion, only $3 billion of which will be covered by insurance. Our hearts go out to all of the people affected.<\/p>\n<p>Big news is expected to come out of Washington next week as sources say <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2011\/08\/31\/us-usa-obama-housing-idUSTRE77T6DV20110831?feedType=RSS&amp;feedName=topNews&amp;rpc=71\">President Obama<\/a> will unveil new plans to stimulate the housing market in his address on jobs to a joint session of congress. Let\u2019s hope!\u00a0 In the meantime, this week the Administration extended the deadline for unemployed homeowners to apply for <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/developments\/2011\/08\/29\/unemployed-get-more-time-to-apply-for-loan-program\/\">the foreclosure-prevention program.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Talk about a <a href=\"http:\/\/moneyland.time.com\/2011\/09\/01\/six-figure-parking-spots-the-rich-pay-125000-to-park-their-cars\/\">prime piece of real estate<\/a>. I am not referring to a house, but rather a <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424053111904199404576538302924449120.html?mod=ITP_personaljournal_0\">parking space<\/a>. In some overcrowded cities with limited available parking, people can earn a pretty penny from selling a space. One couple sold a parking space they bought for $100K three years ago for $125K. Not a bad profit!<\/p>\n<p>Can your home be bad for your health?
