The influence and prevalence<\/a> of social networking site<\/a> Twitter<\/a> was made abundantly clear when news on the death of Osama Bin Laden broke Sunday evening.\u00a0 Being touted as a \u201cwatershed moment\u201d<\/a> for the microblogging site, Keith Urbahn<\/a>, former chief of staff for Bush Administration Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, was the first to break the news in the form of a tweet.\u00a0 Another Twitter user, a citizen of the Pakistani town<\/a> where Osama<\/a> was living, unknowingly <\/a>played out the entire account of the operation by U.S. Special Forces<\/a>. Facebook<\/a> and Google Maps <\/a> also were sources of information.<\/p>\n

Despite campaigns like this, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo still do not rank in the top 15 biggest brands on Twitter.<\/a> The list includes President Obama, Fox\u2019s Glee television show, Texas Hold \u2019em Poker and of course, Justin Beiber.<\/p>\n
