It\u2019s official: The majority of Americans<\/a> are now on Facebook.<\/a> A new study<\/a> revealed that 51 percent of people in the United States have profiles on the social network.\u00a0 Amazing, especially when you consider that 70 percent of Facebook<\/a> users are outside the United States!<\/p>\n

I wonder if this large group will embrace movie watching on the site.\u00a0 Warner Bros<\/a> announced it will make five high-profile movies<\/a>, for example Inception, available for rental and streaming on Facebook.<\/p>\n

The e-wallet is picking up share.\u00a0 Many announcements and partnerships over the past week have made it clear that the story of the electronic wallet is unfolding rapidly.\u00a0 Google<\/a> announced a partnership with MasterCard and Citigroup<\/a> that allows Android users<\/a> to pay for purchases by waving a phone in front of a receiver.\u00a0 (If you believe the rumors,<\/a> the next generation<\/a> iPhone<\/a> 5 will also have Near-Field Communication technology<\/a>.) \u00a0American Express has also created an online- and mobile-payments application<\/a> \u201cServe\u201d which is basically a prepaid electronic wallet.\u00a0 If they make driver\u2019s licenses electronic, we may soon have no need for a wallet.<\/p>\n

The "Milton Berle Show\u201d & "Jersey Shore\u201d are just some of the shows that have helped TV turn into the business it is today<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

<\/a>AdWeek released a list of the 100 most influential television shows<\/a>, programs that helped \u201cthe medium as it evolved into as cultural force.\u201d\u00a0 From \u201cThe Milton Berle Show,\u201d<\/em> which the magazine cites as \u201cthe original \u2018Mr. Television,\u2019\u201d to the \u201cJersey Shore,\u201d<\/em> which brought seven million viewers <\/a>to MTV during its third season, these shows have helped TV turn into the business it is today.<\/a> What show has had a big influence in your life?<\/p>\n

Targeted marketing took a leap forward as GroupMe<\/a> introduced Featured Groups<\/a>, a service which allows users participating in group messaging to select a brand that will send special offers and \u201cinside information\u201d directly into their private conversations.<\/p>\n

Another way brands are engaging with consumers is tasking them to develop their own viewer-generated commercials. \u00a0Turner’s “Adult Swim” and Pizza Hut<\/a> are asking consumers to create summer commercial spots<\/a>. The charge is to create a video describing their favorite pizza moment<\/a>.\u00a0 What\u2019s yours?<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t find the laundry detergent in your super-sized grocery store? \u00a0What about the closest bathroom at the stadium of your favorite sports team? \u00a0Check out the latest app from Meridian, an indoor GPS for your phone that gives you turn-by-turn directions<\/a>. \u00a0Now we don\u2019t have to ask for directions indoors either.<\/p>\n
