Can an app change your life? \u00a0The Wall Street Journal Europe<\/em> recently published a list of the top 10 apps<\/a> that are most useful, most recommended and most interesting. \u00a0From food to music to tracking alcohol consumption over time, it\u2019s an interesting list! \u00a0What app will you download?<\/p>\n

The iPad, a great tool for personal enjoyment, can also help increase productivity for businesses. Mashable<\/a> looked at how five companies are using the device as a great business tool. My favorite is the Canine social club Zoom Room, where the faculty use iPads to check dogs into the facility for classes and other events.\u00a0 If you have an iPad, how do you use its functionality to be more efficient?<\/p>\n

Think you have friends far and wide?\u00a0 Check out \u201cWhere My Friends Be?\u201d from Google Maps, which pinpoints the location<\/a> of your Facebook friends. \u00a0Where is your farthest friend from?<\/p>\n

From finding your friends to finding loved ones\u2026Google launched a Person Finder page<\/a> which helped victims<\/a> of last week\u2019s New Zealand earthquake<\/a> find friends and family.<\/p>\n

In perhaps a sign of Facebook\u2019s rising global influence<\/a>, an Egyptian man, thankful for the role the social media site played<\/a> in his country\u2019s recent revolution, has named his baby after the site<\/a>. \u00a0I love social media as much as the next person, but I think this may be a little much. It\u2019s akin to the dot-com bubble when eBay auctions for baby names were aflutter!<\/p>\n

Two of the fast food<\/a> behemoths are embracing social media.\u00a0 In a way to promote new products, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts are targeting consumers on Foursquare and Twitter. \u00a0McDonalds is taking the social-cause route, donating money for McDonalds-related tweets and check-ins.\u00a0 Dunkin Donuts<\/a>, on the other hand, is hosting trivia Tuesdays on Twitter. \u00a0It\u2019ll be interesting to see which campaign is more successful: charity or fun and games.<\/p>\n

Sports fans, listen up! If you don\u2019t have the most expensive cable package, that may not hinder you from catching all of the basketball and hockey games<\/a>.\u00a0 YouTube is in discussions with the NHL and NBA to stream live games. <\/a> Stay tuned for specifics\u2026<\/p>\n
