The good news, though, is that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/money\/economy\/housing\/2010-06-10-foreclosures-may_N.htm\">foreclosures<\/a> in general leveled off in May, with numbers nearly flat from a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>This fluctuation and changes in the market lately have accounted for a lot of uncertainty and indecisiveness among <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2010\/06\/10\/garden\/10homesale.html?ref=todayspaper\">home buyers<\/a> \u2013 as an example of this, just look at <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB20001424052748703302604575294562740840260.html#mod=todays_us_new_york\">New Jersey<\/a>. The hesitancy might be causing some sellers to <a href=\"http:\/\/rismedia.com\/2010-06-09\/more-homes-on-sale-in-may-2010-after-tax-credit-expiration-according-to-ziprealty\/\">slash prices on homes.<\/a> One thing we can say about the tax credit is that it did help push many consumers into a decision. In times of uncertainty, there are always people who will take advantage, for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/cgi-bin\/article.cgi?f=\/g\/a\/2010\/06\/09\/investopedia44664.DTL\">better<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessweek.com\/news\/2010-06-10\/banks-face-short-sale-fraud-as-home-flopping-schemes-spread.html\">worse.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As perhaps another window into the housing market <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSN0934503120100609\">post-tax credit<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usnews.com\/money\/personal-finance\/real-estate\/articles\/2010\/06\/09\/applications-point-to-slow-summer-housing-season.html\">demand for mortgage applications <\/a>dwindled last month to a fresh 13-year low. But look to the Golden state for a little pick me up. As I have said before, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/idUSN088645120100608\">Southern California<\/a> led the downturn in the housing market, so it may lead the pack during the upturn, and news this week shows the region finally hit bottom. Let\u2019s hope this means housing is headed for an upswing! Still, according to some, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inman.com\/news\/2010\/06\/7\/a-real-estate-recovery-in-2013\">full recovery<\/a> will not occur until 2013, with <a href=\"http:\/\/mortgage.freedomblogging.com\/2010\/06\/08\/foreclosures-to-be-high-for-18-more-months\/32315\/\">foreclosures stabilizing<\/a> in 2011. Any predictions?<\/p>\n<p>Finally, as summer heat hits in full swing, look at these tips on how to <a href=\"http:\/\/realestate.msn.com\/article.aspx?cp-documentid=24462394\">lower electricity costs.<\/a> May be fun to mention to your clients too!
