And who doesn\u2019t like a good party? We\u2019ve<\/em> <em>been planning, creating ideas, and have the ball rolling with you in mind. You just need to set a date and make the invitation list.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-77091\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bhgre.com\/bhgrelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/PHOTO-1-BHG_RE_CelebrationCake_003-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bake the Cake<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, we\u2019ve got cake! The Better Homes and Gardens\u00ae Test Kitchen staffers created a special celebratory cake and frosting, <em><u>The BHGRE\u00ae Vanilla Bean Birthday Cake<\/u><\/em>. You\u2019ll find this buttermilk and vanilla bean cake delicious and easy to make. Plus, the creamy Salted Marshmallow Buttercream Frosting is heavenly. Success is easy as we even created a quick and easy-to-follow video to show you (or your favorite baker) how to make the cake and decorate it, <em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dnqC9AarpzI\">BHGRE Vanilla Bean Birthday Cake How to Video<\/a><\/u><\/em>. Make sure to let us see your version of this incredible cake by sharing photos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-77101 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bhgre.com\/bhgrelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/PHOTO-2-BHG_RE_CelebrationCake_014-300x219.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"219\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Test Kitchen Tip:<\/em> To make cupcakes instead of the layer cake, start by lining four standard muffin pans with paper cups. (We love silver metallic liners for a touch of bling and tradition has it that the 10<sup>th<\/sup> year anniversary gift is tin\/aluminum.) Follow the recipe through step 2 except use prepared muffin pans. Bake 18-20 minutes. Makes 45-48 cupcakes. If you do not have 4 muffin pans, refrigerate remaining batter until ready to use.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-77111\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bhgre.com\/bhgrelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/PHOTO-3-BHG_RE_CelebrationCake_035-233x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the sprinkles, we purchased single containers of the \u201cPAIGE colors\u201d and custom mixed them together. Check out Michael\u2019s Crafts or your local grocery store for similar colored sprinkles or buy a container of the rainbow sprinkles to make the finishing touch quick and easy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-77121 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bhgre.com\/bhgrelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/PHOTO-4-IMG_4399-300x248.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"248\" \/><strong>Make the Topper<\/strong><br \/>\nFor the cake topper, we found green and white striped straws for the poles at Michael\u2019s Crafts. (<em>Tip:<\/em> To keep the full length of the straw above the frosting level, tape a wooden stick or kabab skewer to an end of the straw to lengthen it.) For the flags, we took the pendants in the online <em>BHGRE 10<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary Party in a<\/em> Box found in the BHGRE Greenhouse and reduced the color copy down to be 1.25\u201d wide. Cut and glue them to a 15\u201d white 1\/8\u201d wide ribbon or string. (<em>Tip:<\/em> To help the ribbon hang in a smoother curve, use the tip of a fabric scissors and snip 1\/16\u201d of the ribbon between each of the pendants.) Then tie or tape the ends of the ribbon to the straws.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Party Supplies<\/strong><br \/>\nSet up a pretty table with a solid colored tablecloth. This will contrast nicely with the white cake.
