Christopher Gucciardo<\/a>, broker and Executive Vice President of Better Homes and Gardens\u00ae Real Estate\u00a0Atlantic Shores <\/a>in Long Island, NY, has a few words for you, in fact, he has ten questions’ worth! Christopher is a 2015\u00a0recipient of the Long Island Board of Realtors, Inc.<\/a> Young Professionals Network “20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate” Award. Learn\u00a0how he\u00a0got his start in the business at age eighteen and quickly became an innovative, progressive top producer, in our “Ten Questions With” series.<\/p>\n

    Which of our BHGRE\u00ae P.A.I.G.E. (Passion, Authenticity, Innovation, Growth, Excellence) core values do you identify with most, and why?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Passion – \u201cif you cannot figure out your purpose, figure out your passion, for your passion will lead you right to your purpose.\u201d I have a true passion for real estate, for sharing with others and building their businesses. Being raised in a real estate family, the passion started for me at a very young age. Now I am privileged to share my passion and inspire with it everyday.<\/li>\n

    What are your favorite qualities in a customer? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

    The customer who tests me and my knowledge. The ones that each day, I learn from. Building a relationship of trust and lasting beyond the transaction, who at the end of it all calls me a friend.<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    What is the one characteristic that\u2019s helped you the most in your career?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    This is a people business and I am genuinely fascinated by people. I love the process of building rapport with someone when you first meet. When I meet someone and ask them about themselves, I truly want to know. Everyone has a story and if we all payed a little more attention to each other we would all learn so much more about ourselves.<\/li>\n

    What was the last book you read?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Introducing NLP by Joseph O\u2019Connor and John Seymour<\/a>. Most of the books I read gear towards psychology and understanding people. I have even suggested to agents and other brokers that they read books on dating. Dating is a process of building rapport and trust with someone. Those same skills are used every day in our businesses.<\/li>\n

    If you weren\u2019t in real estate, what would you be doing?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    I\u2019ve always had a love for performance, I even received a degree in it. I recently produced and had a small role in a romantic comedy about real estate agents called Fair Market Value<\/em>. If I weren\u2019t in real estate, I would be working in film full time.<\/li>\n

    What was the last song you heard that you couldn\u2019t stop humming?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    Homegrown by Zac Brown Band<\/a>.<\/li>\n

    Who is your real-life hero?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    I find heroes everywhere I look. It\u2019s in people I meet who face adversity head on and encourage me to do the same. My father is my first hero. Selfless giving to his family and those around him. Guiding, loving and unselfish.<\/li>\n

    What\u2019s your favorite thing about social media?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    My favorite thing about social media is how all of our worlds are now bigger because of it. I am a big fan of Instagram since \u201ca picture is worth a thousand words.\u201d With it, we can take an adventure through the eyes of others or share our own. Whether it\u2019s a quick glimpse of where they are, what they are doing, or how they are celebrating life, it allows us to share that moment with others in that very instant.<\/li>\n

    If you could sell a home in any market in the world, where would it be?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    It would be cool to sell undeveloped Caribbean islands just before they are built out with unique homes or beautiful resorts. I could say I remember when it was just a jungle paradise and I may even keep an island for myself.<\/li>\n

    What is your favorite motto, and what advice would you give your younger self starting out in real estate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

    \u201cMeasure Twice, Cut Once\u201d – Having a building and real estate upbringing, \u201cmeasure twice, cut once\u201d is something I remember hearing as a young boy and it took on new meaning as I got older. To me, measure twice means not reacting too quickly to a situation and confirming that you are judging it accurately. You then only have to \u201ccut once\u201d because you know you thought it through and checked before you made your final mark. My younger self was more impulsive and I would have\u00a0liked to have taken things a bit slower, certainly no regrets but in retrospect, wouldn\u2019t we all like a few do-overs?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
