(Passion, Authenticity, Innovation, Growth, Excellence) core values do you identify with most, and why? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Passion \u2013 I love the idea of being part of something that matters! Whether working individually with a client, delivering world-class service as part of the Shanahan Team, or simply being part of the BHGRE brand, I love being associated with an expectation of excellence. It\u2019s what drives me to Be Better.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What are your favorite qualities in a customer?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Openness and Trust \u2013 I\u2019m not asking for too much, am I? I love when we\u2019re able to effectively communicate, even when they\u2019re not sure of their wants and needs as a buyer or seller. It makes my job so much more interesting and gratifying to be able to solve that riddle.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What is the one characteristic that\u2019s helped you the most in your career?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Curiosity. Sometimes I feel like a toddler \u2013 asking \u201cwhy?\u201d and \u201cwhat if?\u201d I\u2019m lucky to live and work in such a historic area filled with everything from condo conversions to 200-year-old Grande Dames. I love finding out about people, about homes, towns, and neighborhoods, and then matchmaking all that information for the perfect fit.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What was the last book you read?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/First-Fifteen-Lives-Harry-August\/dp\/0316399620\/ref=tmm_pap_title_0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August<\/a>,\u201d a sci-fi\/thriller about a man who keeps being reborn as the same person with perfect memory of his previous lives. He must stop the end of the world by preventing the bad guy from being reborn. A far cry from my usual fare and a fun read.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>If you were not in real estate, what would you be doing?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Interior Design, for sure. I absolutely love architecture, decorating, colors and styles. I love the idea of making a house into a home and finding styles that, while not necessarily my own, match the personality of a particular person.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What was the last song you heard that you couldn\u2019t stop humming?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\u201cMother and Child Reunion\u201d by Paul Simon. We downloaded <em>The Muppets<\/em> soundtrack a while back and my youngest\u2019s favorite song was \u201cMe and Julio Down by the Schoolyard.\u201d I figured he\u2019d really enjoy \u201cKodachrome\u201d and a few others. I wasn\u2019t disappointed and now Paul\u2019s \u201cEssentials\u201d are on regular rotation in the car \u2013 with or without the kids.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>Who is your real-life hero?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>My grandmother. She was a remarkable, strong, kind, woman. She knew what she wanted for herself and her family. After each of her five children graduated college, she decided to send herself. I really admire her take-no-prisoners approach to life.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What is your favorite motto?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\u201cHold up your head! You were not made for failure, you were made for victory. Go forward with a joyful confidence.\u201d \u2013 George Eliot. It\u2019s the quote I posted to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/BHGRETheShanahanGroup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook page<\/a> on New Year\u2019s Day. I think it is the perfect mindset with which to begin any endeavor.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>If you could sell a home in any market in the world, where would it be?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Tuscany. Ancient villas surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. Perfect.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h4><strong>What advice would you give your younger self starting out in real estate?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Do it sooner!
